Hilton Hotels & Resorts
The fort like architecture of the Hilton Muscat will be a unique development representing the Hilton hotel brand. Warm and inviting materials reference to the purity of Omani architecture, undulating landscape & white shores. Clean lines and rich textures are enhanced by unique art and accessories that form a cohesive collection that is seen throughout the hotel highlighting the use of local crafts in a quiet, elegant way. The design hallmark of the lobby is its grandeur of scale, balanced with warm atmosphere, light colours and textures. A palette of whites, greys, silvers and bronze gently shimmer in the vast space creating a warmly authentic environment.
The interior architecture of the Lobby Lounge sets the stage for the guest experience. It is here where business and social gatherings occur. Furnished in a variety of seating groups, the lobby lounge provides a luxurious respite for travellers seeking either a quiet moment alone or awaiting a guest. The prominent location of the centre stage with a raised podium, is encased by a 7m tall bronze dome like structure with interconnecting arches. Circulating the outer seater groups are 4m bronze screens, which provide individual seating groups and privacy to guests. Warm and elegant lantern lighting is artfully integrated into the bronze screens casting dramatic shadows through the space. One’s eye is lead towards the focal point of a cascading crystal chandelier, enveloping the central dome and its space. The individual crystal pendant elements are Arabic calligraphy following a concept of messages of harmony, blessings, god, life and beauty. Oversized planters with dates and palm trees enhance the lobby lounge fenestration with an additional botanic scene emphasising the elegant ambiance.
The elegance and purity of Arabic calligraphy has formed a strong vision for our design statement and one of a kind vision. We have looked at the purest in form and its meaning to integrate into our interior design as an anchor to its location, a celebration of Islamic heritage and emphasis on the Arabic culture. The words Life, Love, Family, Light, Beauty, God & Dignity are powerful symbols in its meaning and form. These will be transformed into a crystal glass form and integrated into the main crystal chandelier as a unique statement and celebration of its location.
The healing power of crystals has been known to man for centuries and therefore the concept story of semiprecious stones was a very befitting concept for the Spa. Therefore the colours and connotations of crystals was our concept for spa’s interior design concept. Upon arrival to the Spa the guest is encased in warmly authentic environment. Interior language leads the design style with rich layering of finishes and furnishings, textiles and artwork. The tone on tone background palette is infused by rich colour of deep orange and midnight blues. The concept inspiration lies in the beauty and strength of 2 stones: Red river quartz and Tanzanite. The tones & hues of these 2 stones are used in bold and precise manner to emphasise the sense of location, culture and warmth of Omani hospitality. Throughout the spa, the design seeks to provide privacy, comfort and personal space to the guests. Intuitive layouts lead the guests easily through the spa facilities. The focal 25m swimming pool connects the feature spa corridor with treatment facilities and the landscaped grounds with sun drenched terraces. Sculptural Omani artwork is featured throughout the spa giving a level of authenticity and cultural significance.
The Hilton Muscat will also have a sports complex across from the hotel, offering a climbing wall, mountain biking and other adventurous activities. This area will also provide unique facilities within the city.
